Each chapter added a new layer: first the discipline of the pressroom, then the precision of editorial production, followed by creative direction, web development and independent local publishing.
1984–1988
Commercial Printing
Jued managed the daily operation of a commercial printing facility and supervised a team of 17 employees. The work demanded scheduling, equipment coordination, quality control and the judgment to keep every job moving toward a finished product.
That early responsibility established a principle that continues through his work today: design must not only look right—it must survive production.
1994–2009
Editorial Production
For approximately 15 years, Jued worked as a Digital Imaging Technician in a deadline-driven newspaper environment. His responsibilities included digital imaging, color correction and digital-file output to paginated press plates using a CREO production system.
The newsroom reinforced the value of accuracy, consistency and collaboration—because when publication time arrives, every detail matters.
2010–Present
Print Production & Creative Design
As Production Manager and Creative Design Specialist, Jued brings decades of printing knowledge into every client project. His work includes commercial print production, page layout, prepress, Adobe Creative Cloud and the preparation of dependable, production-ready artwork.
From business cards, menus and brochures to booklets, posters and visual campaigns, the goal remains the same: make the work attractive, useful and buildable.
Current
Independent Creative Practice
Jued expanded his production toolkit into the web, combining branding, WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, photography, video and AI-assisted visual systems to create modern digital experiences.
His work now connects print and digital presentation: websites, interactive demonstrations, lead-management systems, music interfaces, brand identities and marketing assets built around the needs of real businesses.
2000–Present
Local Digital Publishing
Through SantaBarbaraLocal.com, Jued writes, edits and publishes stories about local history, destinations, businesses and community life. The work combines WordPress publishing, photography, captions, research, responsive presentation and search-oriented organization.
It is a continuing editorial project rooted in the belief that local knowledge deserves careful presentation and a lasting home.
